Personal:

Since returning home from the Navy in 1971 I’ve had a long and varied career encompassing Clinical Social Work with children, teens, adults and families in mental health, substance abuse and ACOA outpatient, intensive outpatient, day hospital, residential and inpatient settings, and in rural and urban areas. I’ve been involved with the Men’s Movement and was a member of a team using Experiential Therapy with trauma survivors in weekend retreats for men and for men & women. In Interior Alaska I worked with Alaska Natives in a village-based and itinerant program for nine years. The most recent phase of my career has involved working with combat veterans with PTSD and TBI while employed by the Air Force, VA and Army using Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Eye Movement Desensitization-Reprocessing, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Jungian Psychology and what my active duty background taught me. Personal interests include hiking, bicycling, sailing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, reading, movies, auto mechanics and being both a godfather and a grandfather. I work at incorporating mindfulness, intuition and respect for the spiritual in all aspects of my life and work.
